Building Safety Awareness Due to Earthquake, the Great Disaster of the Century in Motherland Turkey

We lost thousands of
people in the earthquake that took place in Turkey and unfortunately, 35 of our
students in Adıyaman and 49 of our citizens in total lost their lives during
the disaster of the earthquake.
In the official report of
the Directorate of Antiquities and Museums of the Ministry of Tourism and ronment
and TRNC Deputy Prime Minister in 2021, it was stated that there were serious
corrosion and damages in the school garden and park in the flood disaster 4
years ago.
In our building where 500
students are educated, some improvements and prefabricated classrooms are being
tried to be made with the efforts of Dikmen Municipality, school administration
and parent-teacher association. However, the buildings are still dangerous.
The aim of our project is
to ensure that our children are removed from the buildings of Dikmen Primary
School that are about to collapse and that they receive education in a safe
area. In this context, we aim to raise awareness that not only Dikmen Primary
School but also all buildings should be made earthquake resistant.
